Mountain View Luthier
School is committed to the practical application of learning and teaching the
Art of Lutherie. Students experience individualized “hands-on” training in
instrument design and construction. They are progressively challenged by each
new project, which is built on the foundation of the previous. The result is a
comprehensive view of the Art of Lutherie.
This process hones the student's ability to
logically approach potential problems. Learning requires time, time requires
patience.
Everyone learns differently, and has different strengths and weaknesses. There are many techniques and approaches to achieve the same end.
What is intuitive to one may need to be quantified extensively for another. The subject of Lutherie is subject to many stylistic opinions,
which can be very enlightening, but also very confusing for the program initiate. Our charge is to shed the light necessary for students to
find their own path. There is no one correct method, but there is one right way for
you. Our intent is to create an open forum for birthing new
ideas in a continuing effort for excellence. I’ve learned many great lessons from students over the years, as well as all that I have shared.
We look forward to working with you here at Mountain View Luthier School. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions.
